The inauguration marks the completion of one of the most significant industrial investments made in Botoșani in recent years and represents a new milestone in the development of Electro-Alfa International. 35 years after its establishment, the company is further strengthening its position in the European market through its strategic partnership with SGB-SMIT Group.

Through this investment, Electro-Alfa International and SGB-SMIT Group are contributing to strengthening Europe's energy infrastructure supply chain while enhancing the competitiveness of Romania's manufacturing sector. The production at SGB-ALFA began in July 2025, the facility currently employs about 100 people and has already manufactured more than 1,300 transformers for customers across European markets. By 2027, the facility is expected to create more than 200 direct jobs and support the development of a regional ecosystem of suppliers and business partners.

The new facility manufactures oil-immersed distribution transformers ranging from 50 kVA to 1,000 kVA, serving electricity distribution operators and industrial customers in Romania and across European markets. The investment includes modern production facilities, testing laboratories and logistics infrastructure, enabling the company to meet the growing demand for equipment supporting energy projects throughout the region. The partnership combines SGB-SMIT Group's engineering and design expertise with Electro-Alfa International's manufacturing capabilities and deep understanding of the local market.
Electro-Alfa International shares have been trading on the Regulated Market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, under the ticker symbol EAI, since March 3, 2026. The company successfully completed an IPO in February 2026, attracting net proceeds of RON 544.3mn. Curerntly, the company’s market capitalization exceeds RON 2.2bn.
