The European Union and South Korea already have an established framework for cooperation. The forum aims to build on this foundation by creating direct business collaboration opportunities between companies from the two countries. The inaugural edition will focus on understanding business needs, providing participating organizations with visibility among potential partners, and facilitating initial one-to-one business meetings.
Why Romanian Companies Should Participate
South Korea has been Romania's strategic partner since 2008, with the partnership further strengthened in 2024. The country is also the world's fourth-largest market for industrial robot installations, according to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR, 2024).
At the same time, Korean AX solution providers seeking to expand their presence in the European Union need local implementation partners. Romanian IT companies are well positioned to support these initiatives and establish technology partnerships with Korean businesses.
Participation is open to AI and technology solution providers, system integrators, investors and research organizations, as well as companies and public institutions across all sectors interested in adopting AI and AX solutions for their own digital transformation or exploring opportunities in these fields.
Key Opportunities for Romanian Companies
Participating Romanian companies will benefit from:
Direct access to Korean AI/AX solution providers, technology companies and investors, without the need for international travel.
Visibility in a joint business catalogue featuring Romanian and Korean participants, distributed to Korean companies ahead of the forum.
One-to-one business meetings facilitated by the organizers between companies that have expressed mutual interest.
Practical insights into the Korean AI/AX market, including how Korean companies and regions are implementing AI transformation.
Cross-border business opportunities, including technology partnerships, joint projects, AI/AX solutions for companies' own digital transformation, entry into the Korean market, and connections with Korean businesses interested in investing in Romania and the European Union.
Forum Agenda: AI, Investment and Business Cooperation
The agenda will address key topics relevant to companies exploring AI adoption and international business opportunities.
Sessions will cover the investment environment in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe, EU and Romanian AI policies, case studies from Romania's AI industry, and regional AI transformation initiatives in South Korea.
The programme will conclude with a joint panel discussion bringing together perspectives from both countries.
The forum is supported by a network of institutional, industry and corporate partners. The Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Korea is the institutional partner, while Transilvania IT Cluster and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk AX Association are industry and ecosystem partners. SYP Co., Ltd. is the corporate partner.
Through this collaboration, the forum aims to strengthen connections between the Romanian and Korean business communities and support the development of practical partnerships in AI and digital transformation.
Registration and Business Matching
Based on the registration forms submitted by participants, the organizers will prepare a joint catalogue of Romanian and Korean companies and distribute it ahead of the forum.
Following the event, online one-to-one meetings will be facilitated between companies that have expressed mutual interest, creating opportunities to explore potential partnerships and develop concrete business initiatives.
Participation is free of charge for Romanian companies. Registration is open until November 6, 2026.
