The project also includes the development of a 220 kV transformer substation (2×80 MVA), a critical infrastructure for integrating the capacity into Romania’s national transmission grid and ensuring system stability and reliable energy delivery.
The project is currently in the early stages of construction and includes both the photovoltaic installation works and the high-voltage infrastructure required for grid connection.
„Projects that include high-voltage infrastructure and are designed with flexibility in mind will remain relevant over the long term. For Enexus, developing expertise in substations and grid connection infrastructure is a new strategic direction. The next phase of the market will favor companies capable of delivering not only energy, but also stability and real grid integration”, says Mesut Güler, CEO Enexus.
The project is being developed in partnership with Astor Enerji, a company listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange and one of the leading global manufacturers of high-voltage equipment.
„ Romania is a strategic market for our regional growth plans, and energy infrastructure will play a critical role in the years ahead. We were looking for a local partner capable of understanding both the complexity of the projects and the direction in which the renewable energy market is evolving. Enexus brings this execution and integration capability,” stated Fadil Fedai, Country Manager Astor.
For Enexus, this project reflects the company’s ability to attract international capital, particularly from Turkey, and supports a broader model in which energy projects become a gateway for investors looking to build a long-term presence in Romania.
„We see energy as an entry point for cross-border investment. When projects are properly structured and delivered correctly, investors do not stop at a single asset — they expand their presence. Romania has the potential to become a genuine scaling platform for energy investments, and Enexus is here to reduce the distance between investment and execution through projects that are operationally sound and commercially sustainable” said Alina Ștefan, Chief Commercial Officer Enexus.
