The agreement focuses on the joint testing of monitoring technologies and alerting platforms, along with the exchange of threat intelligence between the two entities. A key objective is to improve the visibility of cyber incidents across the energy sector in order to support a more coordinated national response.

The two organizations plan to cooperate on various initiatives designed to support Romania’s cybersecurity posture. These include sharing information related to cyber threats, hosting training sessions and technical workshops on operational technology (OT) security, and developing public materials and alerts based on data analysis. The partnership will also support policy-making efforts at both national and European levels in the field of industrial cybersecurity.

Dan Cîmpean, Director of DNSC, noted that Romania’s energy sector has become increasingly targeted by sophisticated cyberattacks, especially following the onset of the war in Ukraine. He emphasized the need for both effective solutions and strong partnerships to improve the security and resilience of the country’s critical infrastructure.

According to Cîmpean, the cybersecurity of essential sectors depends on close collaboration between public institutions and private companies. He pointed out that DNSC is committed to supporting platforms that facilitate information sharing, analysis, and early warning on potential threats, particularly in high-risk sectors like energy.

ENEVO Group contributes to the partnership with SentryOT, a cybersecurity platform developed by a Romanian team combining expertise in OT security and energy engineering. This integrated knowledge base allows the company to design tailored cybersecurity solutions that align with the specific risks and operational demands of critical infrastructure environments.

Cristian Pârvulescu, CEO of ENEVO Group, said the agreement reflects a shared vision between public and private sectors, rooted in collaboration and proactive risk management. He expressed confidence that this partnership will help build a more resilient cybersecurity framework for Romania’s energy infrastructure, while encouraging transparency and efficiency in responding to industrial security challenges.
