Meta Estate Trust prepares for a new growth phase with CEO transition
Meta Estate Trust, the Romanian holding company active in the real estate sector, has announced a change in its executive management as it prepares for the next stage of growth. Current CEO and co-founder Alexandru Bonea will step down at the end of October 2025, in agreement with the company’s Board of Directors.
The decision marks the completion of a mission entrusted to Bonea two years ago, during which he successfully stabilized the company and rebuilt investor confidence. Under his leadership, Meta Estate Trust consolidated its position, diversified its portfolio, and delivered solid financial results.
“This is not a change of direction, but a natural transition towards the next growth stage. We thank Alexandru for the diligent way in which he contributed to strengthening the company and for the results achieved. Meta Estate Trust now has a united executive team, a diversified portfolio with an adequate risk profile, and a business model validated by the market. Over the next three months, we will appoint a new CEO through a rigorous recruitment process, bringing in new skills and expertise to drive our future development,” said Laurențiu Dinu, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Meta Estate Trust.
Bonea highlighted the milestones achieved during the past two years: securing €8 million in exposures, generating €10 million in liquidity and €4 million in net profits, investing €6 million in the residential segment and another €6 million in new areas such as hospitality, retail, and healthcare, while also concluding €2 million in bank financing.
“When I took over as CEO, my mission was to stabilize the company and rebuild its growth trajectory. Together with the Board and our dedicated executive team, we achieved this and regained market trust, doubling our shareholder base. Today, Meta Estate Trust is more stable and strategically positioned than ever. It is the right time for me to make space for a new CEO to lead the next long-term growth stage. I will continue to contribute as Co-Founder, supporting the company’s future development,” said Alexandru Bonea, CEO and Co-Founder of Meta Estate Trust.
Founded in March 2021 by a group of Romanian entrepreneurs with experience in real estate and capital markets, Meta Estate Trust (MET) operates as a holding company in the real estate sector. Since August 29, 2022, the company has been listed on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) under the ticker MET, and since March 20, 2023, it has been included in the BETAeRO index.
