SAMEDAY ready to process one million parcels per day after €80M investments

SAMEDAY, the courier company that pioneered easybox delivery in Romania, announced that it has invested over €80 million in 2025 to strengthen its technology infrastructure, expand regionally, and boost operational capacity ahead of the Black Friday season.

Following a 20% year-on-year increase in revenues in the first nine months of 2025, SAMEDAY Group says it is now fully prepared to process up to 1 million parcels per day across its sorting centers — a record level for the company — as parcel volumes are expected to surge by approximately 70% during the Black Friday period compared to normal weeks.

“The shopping season that kicks off with the year’s biggest discount event, Black Friday, always brings a significant increase in volumes and greater delivery complexity. All our investments and efforts — from expanding the out-of-home delivery network to developing advanced processing and delivery technology — have been focused on supporting our e-commerce partners and helping customers manage their orders more easily through the SAMEDAY app,” said Lucian Baltaru, CEO of SAMEDAY Group.

The past year marked the company’s largest investment cycle to date, with 2025 alone representing 30% of all investments made since 2020. Strengthening its logistics backbone, SAMEDAY now operates three main hubs in Bucharest, Sibiu, and Brașov, supported by an expanded network of regional facilities.

In recent months, the company inaugurated five new logistics centers and an oversized parcel facility near its main Rudeni hub, all equipped with advanced automation systems designed to handle growing e-commerce volumes efficiently.

SAMEDAY also reaffirmed its commitment to regional expansion by launching international delivery services to all EU countries, available to both businesses and individuals directly through its web platform and mobile app.

The company’s easybox network — Romania’s first large-scale out-of-home delivery system — has grown by over 20% in 2025, now comprising more than 7,700 active lockers across the region.

At the same time, SAMEDAY expanded its Sameday Point network, which complements the easybox infrastructure with additional pickup and drop-off locations in densely populated or high-demand areas. This network has doubled in size, reaching nearly 1,600 locations nationwide.

Over the past year alone, the company invested over €20 million in out-of-home delivery infrastructure. Today, Romania boasts one SAMEDAY locker for every 3,500 residents, and the average walking distance to an easybox is just six minutes nationwide — or four minutes in Bucharest.

The busiest delivery day of the year is expected to be November 10, with more than 4 million parcels delivered to easyboxes during the Black Friday campaign period.

The SAMEDAY app continues to gain popularity among users, with over 4 million downloads in Romania and a 70% satisfaction rate among customers who rate it as the most efficient way to manage deliveries.

The app allows users to easily extend storage time, reschedule deliveries, send parcels, pay cash-on-delivery via Apple Pay, Google Pay, or eMAG Pay, and redirect parcels to another easybox or address.

In 2025, the company also expanded internationally, launching SAMEDAY Hungary in July and SAMEDAY Bulgaria in October. According to a recent study, SAMEDAY now ranks among Romania’s most popular apps, alongside global platforms such as ChatGPT, WhatsApp, and TikTok.

To handle the seasonal surge in parcel volumes, SAMEDAY has increased its operational workforce by 60% compared to regular periods. The company now deploys 3,500 couriers, over 500 transport vehicles, and extended warehouse operating hours to ensure smooth logistics across its network during the Black Friday rush.

With a strong focus on technology, automation, and customer experience, SAMEDAY’s 2025 expansion positions the company as one of the most advanced delivery operators in Central and Eastern Europe, ready to meet the growing demands of e-commerce and the record-breaking expectations of this year’s Black Friday.
