President Klaus Iohannis signed the decrees appointing new chiefs of prosecutors

The President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, signed on Thursday, February 2020 the following decrees, thus accepting the proposals of the Minister of Justice, Cătălin Predoiu:

 

The decree for the appointment as prosecutor general of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Mrs. Gabriela Scutea, for a period of 3 years.
The decree for the appointment as chief prosecutor of the National Anti-corruption Directorate of Mr. Crin-Nicu Bologa, for a period of 3 years.
The decree for the appointment as chief prosecutor of the Directorate of Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism Offenses of Mrs. Elena-Giorgiana Hosu, for a period of 3 years.

 

Giorgiana Hosu, proposed by the Minister of Justice for the position of chief prosecutor of DIICOT, and Gabriela Scutea, proposed for the post of prosecutor general of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, received a negative opinion a week ago, from the section for prosecutors of the Superior Council of Magistracy while Crin Bologa, proposed by the Minister of Justice for the position of head of the DNA, received a positive opinion.

Bogdan Licu will retain the position of deputy prosecutor general.

A the General Prosecutor's Office, Maria Magdalena Militaru was appointed as Deputy Prosecutor General, Adriana Denisa Cristodor as Chief Prosecutor of the Criminal and Criminal Investigation Section and Cătălin Ranco Pițu as Chief Prosecutor of the Military Prosecutors Section. Appointments were also made at DNA and DIICOT, the deputy of the chief prosecutor of the DNA will be Oana Daniela Pâțu, and the deputy of the chief prosecutor of DIICOT will be Mădălina Scarlat.
