Sameday, FAN Courier, Cargus, DPD Romania, Packeta, Honeywell and Ford - winners of the 2021 Romanian Courier and Postal Services Business Awards

Sameday is the Courier Company of the Year, and the big winner of the 2021 Courier and Postal Services Awards Gala for Excellence hosted by GovNET Romania on Thursday, December 16, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bucharest.

Sameday won five of the sixteen awards: Courier Company of the Year, Investment of the Year, The company with the highest revenue growth, Black Friday Delivery Hero and Best Parcel Locker Award. 

Adrian Mihai the CEO of FAN Courier was awarded the Courier Manager of the Year. Adrian Mihai took over, starting with March 2021, the position of CEO within FAN Courier. The other nominees were Lucian Baltaru - CEO of Sameday, and Karla Codrea, CEO of DPD Romania.

Black Friday Delivery Hero offered by ARMO, Romanian Online Stores Association went to Sameday with FAN Courier and TEAM Courier being the finalists in this category.

The company with the highest percentage increase in turnover was Sameday, which ended 2020 with a turnover of about 400 million lei, 142% more than in 2019. In 2021 it is estimated an increase of about 60 % compared to 2020.

Investment of the year in the courier sector categoty was awarded to Sameday, who invested almost 55 million euros, double, compared to 2020. The other two nominees in this category were FAN Courier and Cargus.

Fan Courier invested over 10 million euros in 2021, for the started projects, development, modernization and technologicalization of new regional HUBs, investments in the fleet, IT and employee training.

Cargus invested over 2 million euros in 9 new logistics warehouses in 2021. The Brașov warehouse, with a total area of ​​10,500 square meters which is also a national HUB and Cargus local base, was equipped with an automatic sorting line. of packages, which tripled the operational capacity for the area served.

The Best Image on Social Media category winner was FAN Courier who also won the Last Mile Delivery Hero category.

The Best Delivery Service Application went to Cargus Mobile, which just one month after its launch entered the top 10 business applications in Romania, according to Google Play. Also, in the Appstore, the application has entered the top 30 for iOS system users.

The other nominations were eAWB by Sameday, MyDPD and FAN Delivery.

The tenth prize was awarded to the partners of the courier companies. Thus, based on the nominations, Ford Romania won the distinction in the Car of the Year category in the courier services for Ford Transit.

The other cars nominated were Renault with electric models and Volkswagen Crafter.

The best business solution of the year went to the "Tap on Phone" solution developed by Mastercard - OTP - Honeywell - DPD. The application was launched in October 2021 , and allows contactless payment with any bank card on delivery directly from the courier device, without the need for other terminals specialized in banking transactions. The solution marks a first for the courier market, being the first time a business device, Honeywell ScanPal, is transformed into a POS, thanks to the mobile application. .

The Transaction of the Tear in the courier sector recognized Cargus for the acquisition of QeOPS - one of the most important providers of e-fulfillment services and customized logistics solutions in Romania.

The award dedicated to the Provider of Courier Technology was awarded to Honeywell, which in 2021 delivered over 9000 Honeywell mobile terminals and Honeywell equipment management software solution licenses.

Best Cross-Border Delivery Service Award was awarded to Packeta.

Green Commitment Award recognized the DPD and R-CREATE project , which offer online stores the first integrated solution for returnable packaging in the Romanian market. Sameday was the finalist with the solar energy powered easybox.

Community Business Award Social Impact Program of the Year recognized the FAN Courier Foundation Program - "High School Student". The program has reached its fourth generation this year. This program is aimed at eighth graders in rural areas who have entered high school in the city and do not have the financial resources to attend high school. Moreover, the program will be extended during the university courses.
